Mayah Pico is an interdisciplinary artist using textile-based mediums (soft sculpture, sculptural wearables), fiber reactive dye processes, and poetry to conceptualize narrative-based installations. These installations reflect our ancestors' inherent connection to seas, stars, the moon, trees, plants, and animal beings as a foundation for survival. The work considers what happens when—through mythos—we allow ourselves to be absorbed back into the landscapes that nurtured, taught, and guided us for millennia.
